Data Management Email Notifications
This page describes the conditions that cause email notifications.
Two different scenarios cause email notifications to be sent to the email address entered in the Data Management configuration page:
- Full partition Disk usage for a partition reaches either 95% full or 99% full (emails are sent in both cases).
- Auto-acknowledge off One or more Signal Processing Input datasets are ready to be deleted, but auto-acknowledge is turned off (meaning the Data Management utility cannot delete these datasets automatically).
Common prerequisites
In all cases, the following are required for email notifications:
- Postfix email is allowed from this Torrent Server.
- Your local I.T. department allows email from the Torrent Server to be received by your local email relay.
- A valid email address is entered in the Data Management Configuration page.
Full partition scenario
The full partition scenario only uses the Data Management utility for the email address. Automatic actions or archive directories do not need to be configured, and the Data Management utility is not required to be enabled (in the Data > Data Management tab).
Only the common prerequisites are required for this type of email notification.
Auto-acknowledge off scenario
In this scenario, the purpose of the email is to notify you that datasets are ready to be deleted but that your acknowledgement is required.
This type of email notification is sent under the following conditions:
- Data Management is enabled with the Enabled checkbox (in the Data > Data Management tab Data Management section).
- In the File Category rules table (in the Data Management Configuration page), the Auto Action menu for the Signal Processing Input is set to Delete.
- At least one Signal Processing Input dataset meets both its Disk Age threshold and its Disk Full threshold.
- The "Auto-Acknowledge Delete?" checkbox in Admin interface is not selected. (The default is not selected. This mechanism predates the Data Management features.)
- Th e common prerequisites are met.
