How Do Automatic File Deletion and Archiving Work?
This page explains how your configuration of these settings affects automatic deletion or archiving:
- Disk Full Threshold
- Disk Age Threshold
- Auto-acknowledge checkbox
How does automatic archiving work?
When Data Management is enabled and the Auto Action menu for any file category is set to Archive, the following events happen:
- Torrent Suite Software periodically checks a ll file systems on the Torrent Server for datasets that meet their Disk Age Threshold.
- For those datasets, file categories that are marked as Archive are archived.
Prerequisites:
- Data Management must be enabled.
- The media in file category's Archive Directory menu must be mounted.
Side effects:
- If the Output file category is to be archived, a run report PDF and a fresh Customer Support Archive (CSA) are generated and left in the Torrent Server run report directory.
How does automatic deletion work?
When Data Management is enabled and the Auto Action menu for any file category is set to Delete, the following events happen:
- Torrent Suite Software periodically checks all file systems on the Torrent Server for file systems that meet their Disk Full Threshold.
- Within file systems that meet their Disk Full Threshold, the system searches forruns that meet their Data Age Threshold.
- For those runs, file categories (except Signal Processing Input) that are marked as Delete are deleted.
- For the Signal Processing Input file category:

- if the "Auto Acknowledge Delete?" checkbox is enabled, this file category in qualifying runs is deleted.
- If the "Auto Acknowledge Delete?" checkbox is not enabled, you must acknowledge deletion of Signal Processing Input files for each run on the Services tab Disk Space Management section.

Side effects:
- If the Output file category is to be deleted, a run report PDF and a fresh Customer Support Archive (CSA) are generated and left in the Torrent Server run report directory.
